This can't just be me!!!!

It's getting worse...

When I first got Sky BB the service was uninterrupted and fast...

It's stil fast, but more and more frequently the amber light on the router
flashes and it's obviously lost synch...

The dB value is really low, particularly in the evening 3 at the
lowest.......

Is anyone else experiencing this?

New record for me...it's now 0 dB, but still connected!

I've seen it on mine, but a quick reboot at that time seems to get it
running stable and happy (for weeks on end if I don't bother rebooting
it again to bump the speed up)

The fastest i've connected is around 7.5Mbit but when the arse drops
out of the line, the slowest I connect is around 6.2Mbit

Reset the router while its low and then leave it alone.

There are known flaws in the firmware that result in it reporting
complete nonsense - a reboot usually gets it back on track.

ISTR this was covered in the skyuser forums a while ago (8-10 months
ago perhaps)

haven't lost synch since putting the proper Netgear firmware on a week
ago. Before that, it would disconnect almost daily and not reconnect
without a reboot.

Currently synched at 15323

curious as to which firmware update you installed, my netgear is
showing V1.02.28 but latest on NetGear site is V1.02.09

I had same problem, having to manually turn off & reboot, turned off
popup blocker & it seems to have cured the problem(netgear modem login
is a popup) but I would prefer to be able to turn my popup blocker
back on again if the firmware fixes this.

V1.02.28 is the Sky modified version, V1.02.09 is, obviously, the
Netgear standard version. The numbering by Sky seems to be an attempt to
stop a casual update, as the Netgear update software doesn't appear to
allow a "previous" version to be re-installed (at least, not easily).

You can change to the standard Netgear version by using the "failed
update" recovery software on the Netgear website.

It happens that Mikey formulated :

V1.02.09

The log-in prompt is not a "pop-up" for me, as such. I get a proper
username & password prompt.

yes I get what appears to be a proper username & password prompt,
Turn on popup blocker )
though you have changed firmware, which may cure the problem anyway ??

I've had a nightmare week of CRAP connection, noticed that once my
login had timed out I couldn't get the "proper username & password
prompt" to popup when I entered 192.168.0.1 without powering down the
modem & rebooting.
Tried excluding 192.168.0.1 from blocker but didn't make any
difference, turned off blocker & I have had no problems since, login
popsup when ever I enter IP address of router & service is amazing.

One thing puzzles me though & I've yet to try out what happens when
this PC is off & we are using other devices connected to the Netgear ?
It appears that the router remembers which device is being used to
admin settings and is checking for it, I'm certain I would have setup
popup blocker on all pc's(haven't checked yet) but its only this
machine that it doesn't like because its the machine that accesses
admin ?????
