Possibly, but the nature of ADSL max is that it auto tunes itself to
find your maximum stable rate. It starts you off at 8128 and gradually
drops, sacrificing speed for stability until it finds a happy medium.
6-7dB is on the threshold of being stable. The higher the SNR value the
more stable your line is, so 8128 with SBR of 7 is theoretically stable
but local interference on the line could account for the drop.
I'd be happy with 6.5 to be honest, I'm stuck at 2 and a bit!
