Sky 2meg connection any more info pls !?

A mate of mine whos a Sky installer has been telling me hes going on
training cos there launching a 2meg connection thru your ya dish this year
with a modem needed for uploading and the service will be provided thru BT
at £60 a month, has anyone heard anymore about this, my sky installer is
quite knowledgeable about it so no reason not to belive him, cheers for any
info given !

Bear in mind all satellite based broadband options have large latency,
and are of little use for "real time" applications.

Define 'real time'
I'd say surfing is real time and its ok for that!

online gameing would be the best example (i know a lot of people dont
use it for games but it's a good example of where 'real time' comes into
it)

True. I was just pointing out that perhaps the blanket generalisation
was a bit harsh and apart from a few specific scenarios (which maybe
should have been specified), most people will be more than happy with
satellite broadband.
