skb->protocol vs. skb->mac.ethernet->h_proto

Should skb->protocol == skb->mac.ethernet->h_proto? If not, what is
the relationship between the two? I am seeing skb->protocol = 0x0800
and skb->mac.ethernet->h_proto = 0x0a00. Does this make sense?
