Do you guys know of any sites that show a beginner how to build a wireless
connection for a home or small-business? What's the most efficient equipment
I can use that I can sell to the client?

Where I live, most people want a wireless conncetion but would rather pay
someone else instead of building them themselves. I'm thinking of offering
that service and the equipment (that's why I'm looking for the cheapest
eqipm).

Also, how do you charge a client (by the hour or # of PCs or is it a fixed
rate) and how much?

And assuming they have access to the net, can a dial-up connection be shared
or does it have to be a fast connection (cable, dsl, etc...)?

Thanks.

Let's see if I understand this. You're a "beginner", but you're planning to
ask people to pay you to set up some technology for them that they don't feel
confident to do for themselves because they're beginners too? Wouldn't this
just put your friends in the position of dealing through a middle man who
doesn't know any more than they do? Would you pay such a person to do
something fopr you if you could do it just as well yourself?

Whatever technical knowledge you manage to acquire, I think you'll need to be
a good salesman. And you might eventually need the services of a good lawyer
too if you think that the cheapest equipment is always the most appropriate,
or are you planning on doing your own legal work too? Good luck.

Rod.

First thing you should do, is make sure the ISP's AUP permits reselling the
service or you may find yourself cut off.
