Simultaneous cable connection and dialup

I was playing around with my PC and found I could leave my NTL
cable connection going and dialup to a Pay-As-You-Go ISP.

The net seemed to think I was on with the PAYG IP address when I
used this page. http://www.lawrencegoetz.com/programs/ipinfo/

How does XP determine which of the two connections is the one which
shows its IP address?

Whichever is the default connection in Internet options / Connections.

Beware, your system is also susceptible to dialling 0908 numbers when
visiting certain web sites.

I have an Ethernet connection to an ICS gateway, which is in turn connected
to BB via a USB modem..
The client PC also has a dial-up modem.
http://showmyip.com/ shows my BB ip

I now dialled up Onetel using DUN and refreshed the browser.

http://showmyip.com/ shows the Onetel (incidentally Onetel isn't my default
DUN connection, I don't think that is the issue here).
Disconnect DUN and hit refresh.

http://showmyip.com/ back to the BB ip.

Looks to me as the way to see it is 'the last valid connection to be put on
the stack is active'.

Graham.
