Not a teckie here..so help please

I had an older computer that I had to install an earthnet card to tie into
my cable modem and it worked fine. My wife had a second computer that we
wired to the Linksys router.... al worked fine. Now I have a new Dell
computer that is already set up for the network and this will be my main
computer.

MY QUESTION...--I want to set up my old computer in another room in the
house. I will run a cable from that to the router. Can I just run the cable
from the old earthnet plug on the back of the computer to the router and all
will be ok? I kow this is a simple question for many..but not to me!!

Will the earthnet card in the old computer have a problem with the new
computer that has an earthnet card already built and serves as my main comp?

TY
JACK

It's a good website that Peter suggested. Take a look. In short, no,
you shouldn't have any problems. Weather the Eathernet card is a built
in card or not doesn't make a difference in whether or not the network
will all function.
