Hi there all. I have a weird problem I'd love some help with. I have a
desktop and a laptop at home, both connected wirelessly to my modem. My
desktop singal quality reading is always 100%, but my laptop, even when
placed right next to the router, only ever gives a maximum reading of
86%, almost as though it's limited in some way. Does this ring any
bells? Are there some setting I can change on the laptop? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Both machines are about a year old and
running Vista HP. Many thanks, Tim

The signal quality readings are neither reliable nor comparable -- they
are only a very rough and often inaccurate guide.
