Everyone is so helpful. Thankyou. If i was there i would delete the
connection and reinstall it. Maybe even bridge ti and the unbridge it. I
had this experience before two time when the network connection was
reporting a strong connecdtion, but the browser was still not coneecting to
anything.
The above solution is really bizaree and we didn't try it. This notebook
has connected to varous wireless connecdtions off and on fine. And, l;ike I
said, there is another notebook in the same room (two fine women), and one
is connecting just fine and the other is not. I've actually set up both
notebooks.
The one that is not getting an internet connction is finding the "fairfield"
wireless fine and is reporting a strong connection. But the browser sitill
not finding any site and email, of course, reporting problems. Pinging any
site fails, even with dns addresses and trying to release and refresh dhcp
results in the error we all hate to see.
Sigh. Why would the unit report a strong connection to the wireless and
still the browser not be able to find pages. I actually had my wife enter a
known good dns address 9in the browser in case it was just the dns that was
messed up, but no luck. It definitely is finding the wireless base station.
Then....?????
Somebody has had this experience before?
