Had the same problem when I originally intsalled my 2624WAP and 1021card.
The only way I got it back was a clean OS install on a spare hard drive.
But since your icon does not show up and you can't make adjustments without
it, try using different software.
http://www.boingo.com/ has a free
download that does work. I did test it. Found it while monitoring this
group in another message. Had one other person contact me with the same
disappearing icon problem, he used it and reported that it worked.
I runWin2K w/SP4. Not sure it that may effect the icon disappearing, but
SP4 seems to have some issues, from the posts I saw on the Win2K update
group.
