Show all wireless devices, how?

I'm using a Linksys wireless DSL router and besides three computers, I have
a Linksys wireless music bridge and a Linksys wireless print server
connected and they work fine! My question is: why don't they show up in my
"Network Connection" screen? Is there a way to make them show up so that I
can monitor them? Do I need some kind of network monitoring software
besides what is built into WinXP?

Thanks all!

Hi
If the shares work fine that is nothing to monitor.
If you want sometime a visual conformation for peace of mind you can use
this.

(Download link to the top right of the page.

Thanks Jack, I'll take a look at the link you sent. The reason I want some
way of monitoring my devices is so that I know they're still present as far
as the network goes, example: my print server up and quit a couple of days
ago and I couldn't print anything. I tried a few things but it was like the
print server was dead; I tried pinging my printer but this failed and I
couldn't access the Linksys configuration program with IE either. Finally I
thought to push the reset button on the server and this gave me a printout,
and what had happened, was that the IP address had changed (I'm using DHCP),
apparently (maybe?) due to a power outage (I'm just guessing). Well I
reconfigured my printer using the new IP address and I was back in business,
but it would be nice to be able to see my device status when something goes
wrong, but I guess if something's wrong, they wouldn't show up anyway, even
if I did have software to monitor them. I don't know, maybe it is just a
piece-of-mind thingy; it would be nice to see a map showing all of my PCs &
devices happily chugging away. Before I retired, I worked with T1 networks
a little, and with the SUN workstation that we used, you could see all of
your nodes, their status, and we could configure the equipment by just
clicking a mouse.

Miracle, miracle!

These devices are not "network connections" or
resources, as WinXP understands them - this is why it doesn't show them.

Of course you need. There are many network monitoring solutions.
For example, if all your devices have SNMP, use SNMPC.
Vista goes somewhat further from XP, it has a network mapping
capability; It works with uPNP and LLTD enabled devices.

You might want to take a look at a utility called "Look At LAN". It's
a freeware product (for non-commercial users, which I'm assuming you
are) that just might do what you need.

Check it out at http://www.lookatlan.com/

These devices may be UPnP compatible. If you enable UPnP on both devices and
enable your computer to discover UPnP devices, it should recognize them.
