I have recently set up a wireless 802.11g network from a pc downstairs to a
router upstairs. I was looking at the connection properties last night and
I noticed that I had sent nearly 30 megabytes of data down the line in a
matter of two and a half hours. Problem is I never actually actively used
the PC on the internet at the time.

My question is... Is it normal for a wireless connection to be constantly
sending data out all the time, even though you may not actually be using the
internet or transfering data from one pc to another? Or have I got a virus
in the system?

I have seen similar behavior, I beleive it is due to a wireless video sender
which is using a similar frequency. If you have other wireless equipment in
the vicinity (even in a neighbors property) this might be a cause of it.

No other equipment on that frequency operating in the area. No
neighbours.... Any other suggestions anyone?
