I have a small test network where 192.168.1.1 is my default gateway and
192.168.1.2 is my AD/DNS server. The subnet mask of my AD/DNS server is
255.255.255. What should be the name of my reverse zone? Should is be the
below name?

1.168.192.in-addr.arpa

Yep. If not sure, when you create the reverse zone, just use the wizard and
type in 192.168.1 and it will autocreate the zone in the form you posted.

The zone, 1.168.192.in-addr.arpa, covers the whole 192.168.1.0/24 (254 IP
address) network. If you wanted to create a zone for a specific smaller
subnet, say a /27, then there's a method to do that as well, but for what
you want, this will be fine.

Hey Spin

Does that Test Network get internet access? It not what would you have
to do to enable internet. So your HQ decides to give you another t1
for the Test Network? What enteries do you make in the DNS/AD etc?

Thanks
Joe

JOe,

If you get an additional T1 (for whatever reason), there wouldn't be
anything required to enter in the internal (AD's) DNS zones because
assumingly, the internal network is on a private range and therefore hidden
or has nothing to do with the outside addresses of the T1. Of course, if you
were to have resources on the DMZ that need access from the internal net,
then we would accomodate those resources and their new IPs. But then again,
it would depend soley on YOUR scenario.

If you need specific help, please provide some more info on what you're
trying to do.
