Sharing Wireless connection with neighbor

I've tried reading some past posts on sharing wireless connection, but
I'm lost.

My cable connection has been down for two weeks, so I'm using my
neighbor's wireless connection. Is there a way to boost the signal
using my own wireless router so the rest of my house can receive a
signal. As it stands, I can only receive a connection to the window
most proximal to my neighbor's.

Thanks.

In that case you'd want a repeater. Right now, the cheapest would be a
D-Link 900AP+. Supposedly, it will repeat (a limited array of) other brand
Access Points. I've not tried it thought. There's also some kind of hack
to load the firmware of the 900AP+ onto a Linksys WAP11. Google should turn
up some links.

good luck,

Suh, open your router page and disable DHCP, set your clients for
static IP then plug your router into your neighbors network as a
client -hopefully in better location with reflector or cheap antenna.
It will function as an AP. Ive done this with Walmart Blitz wrouters
as they are cheaper than AP's and it doesnt appear to interefere with
an 11g bridge in the attic so should not intererfere with neighbors
wireless. same as having 2 aps a common installation.Ive also tested
dlink 713p in the house without conflicts between wireless routers as
long as dhcp is off.
