Do you have firewalls running on both PCs ? Incoming traffic may be blocked
by the (recent) Windows XP firewall, and you need to explicity share part of
the storage (either at disk or folder level) to see it available.

I've recently been looking at a couple of Win XP Home systems (I've got them
visible using VNC from my computers here) while I debug some wireless probs
and one PC can show the other if I use "Search" for computers, but they do
not appear under Network aview t all. I've copied many GB of files (took
a while to do) yet the PCs still only show a single entry (itself) under
Network view. Sorry, not much assistance with this matter! Peter M.

If you're running XP/W2K it's much easier if you use the same user name
and password on both PC's. In addition you need to specifically share
folders, they're not shared by default.

To share right click on the folder in Explorer and select sharing or
Properties then the sharing tab. It's slightly between Home and Pro.

You should have included tick boxes, 'different' is what is missing.

You have to go through the same sharing process with the printer, i.e.
specifically share it.
