Sharing a scanner - how?

I have 98se on two machines, networked over a Belkin broadband router.
All works fine (honest!) including printer sharing.

But I can't find how to set scanner sharing. Although the scanner - an
Epson Perfection 1240U - works fine in all applications on the machine
its attached to, I can't find an icon from which to set sharing, as
you do with printers.

Any help much appreciate4..

Scan the documents into a shared folder on the computer the scanner is
attached to. Then access the scanned documents overver the network from
this shared folder.

It is not practical to share a scanner in the same manner you share a
prionter over the network. The reason is you must be physically at the
scanner to feed the document.

Thanks for this. In case it helps anybody else, I got a response from
Epson after seeing this. They say only a couple of their
'professional' scanners are shipped with network sharable software,
with a considerable hike in price.

So this solution really is the way to go. Thanks again..
