Having recently installed a LaserJet printer on to a
Windows 98 PC, I want to share this printer on the
network. THis particular computer has not been used to
share resources until now

I've set up Client for Windows from the Network
Configuration tab on this machine but do I need to set up
print sharing on each of the other computers on the
network if I am to allow other people to access the new
printer?

If so, how would I do this?

Did you add File and Printer Sharing, and then click on
the button in the Network applet and enable Printer
sharing?

Hi

In computer with printer connected to:
1. You have to add File and Printer Sharing service in Network
Configuration.
2. You have to check 'I want to be able to allow others to print to my
printer(s)'
3. You have to share the printer in Start.Settings.Printers window
(right-click on printer icon and select Sharing from drop-down list)

In other computer(s), you must be able to estabilish the network connection
with computer where printer is connected - i.e. they must be in same
address-room.

When there are problems anyway, check the default protocol for comp with
printer, and then check, is File and Printer sharing on this protocols
Bindings tab checked.

on the computer that has the printer ...enable "file and printer sharing"
...the go to the priter properties and enable the printer to be shared...

on the other computer you can add "netwrok" printer ...browse to the
computer with the printer and select it ...done
