I Shared a folder in Windows 2003 Std Server. I granted full-access rights
to IT group.
There is a sub-folder (name EO) which only allow READ permission to the IT
group but full-access rights for myself. I am also in the IT group.

I could not make it works. Any can advice?

Hello 2sweet,

What are your share permissions? Please post both permissions for all groups.

Best regards

On the main folder, name M.
Share permission:
Group name; IT-group
Permission; Change & Read

A folder, name R, in M folder. (only grant IT-group READ permission),
Security permissions:
Group or user name; IT-group & 2Sweet
Permission for IT-group; Read & Execute, List Folder Contents & Read
Permission for 2Sweet; Full Control

Did i do it correctly?

Hello 2sweet,

The share permission will win, doesn't matter what you set on the folder
permission. So make sure your account has Full control also on the share
permission.

Personally i prefer domain users full control on the share level and then
configure NTFS rights for the different groups.

Best regards
