I have 2 pcs. Both WinME. PC 1 is mine. I have comcast cable internet and a printer hooked to it. PC 2 is the family PC previously not hooked to anything with no internet access. I got a linksys router and wireless card. I installed the wireless card in PC2 and got the router hooked up. I have had no problems with internet access on both.

When I go to network places on PC 1 I can see pc2 and any shared folders that I set up. I get no errors.

When I go to network places in PC2, I get an error. It does not see PC1 at all(I want to share some folders and the printer). I have gone through the network wizard multiple times trying differnt options. I have looked at the MS help on the topic. I called Linksys and they said since the internet was working, it must be an OS problem so they won't help.

Both computers have a unique name. The workgroup matches in characters and case. I have things set up to enable sharing. Linksys had me do a ping test and the pcs each successfully pinged each other. Why can't I see the one pc??? Any obvious things I can try??? I
work in IS, but with an application, not networking. This is frustating.

Oh yes I tried to reinstall windows on PC2 also. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. TIA

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem:

Do you see anything at all in My Network Places on PC2? If so, what?
Does it show itself?

What is the error that you get on PC2? What exactly are you clicking
when it occurs, and what is the complete text of the error message?

Thanks to all who replied. I got up this am and went to PC2. I ran tne
network wizard again and changed one setting. (It was the one that asks if
the PC connects to the internet and how. I changed it from the first option
that says the pc connects via another pc for internet or that it connects to
internet via "my wireless card. I changed it to the wireless card and my
shared folder was there!!)

Thanks again.
