sharing a modem

I have two computers networked together. Cp1 uses windows
98 1st edition and Cp2 uses windows XP. Cp1 is my internet
connection containing the modem. I understand XP will
allow you to share the modem over the LAN but I need the
Windows 98 computer to do so. Does anyone know if this is
possible? My network is working fine, I just need to
access the modem over it.

You can't share a modem over a LAN, you can share an Internet connection
over a LAN. Windows 98 does not contain the Internet Connection Sharing
feature so you'll have to upgrade or find a third-party software solution.
