It's actually pretty easy. Just install a printer on the Mac with the
Printer Setup Utility in the Utilities folder. You'll need the IP
address of the CUPS server and the queue name for the printer from the
CUPS server. Set it up as LPD/LPR. If there is only one printer on the
server, the default queue should work.
As an aside, I found that CUPS can be told to broadcast its queues to
the network. The Mac can see these "shared" queues and connect to them.
Unfortunately, I have never been able to get this to work. I think the
client Mac needs to do some processing before sending the job off to the
server, this processing won't happen if you print to the shared queue.
But fortunately, CUPS has that off by default.
