sharing files

I want to share some files.
There is supposed to be a "sharing" tab in the properties
display of most objects.
My system does not display the sharing tab.
How can I get the tab to appear?

Have you enabled File and Printer sharing. Control Panel | Network and click
the button "File and Print Sharing" on the Configuration tab. This should now
add the sharing tab to your drives and folders.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did that, and it seemed to
work except that I was expecting to be told to restart
windows, but that didn't happen. I restarted anyway, but
no joy.

Sorry to butt in....
Does allowing file and print sharing affect people
having access to my computer. I mean like hackers.
I have zonealarm firewall.

OK, I'll turn the sharing back off. Don't want any
holes left open if I can avoid it.
