Sharing all my files on a 2nd PC

Using a huge network at work, I must admit that when I set my home one up
( basically linking an older PC to my workhorse - both XP/ ethernet) I
expected that my older unit would simply identify all the drives installed
on my main unit and allow all files to be accessed.

This of course is not the case and I began to set up each drive as 'shared'.
Doing this only allows sharing of top level though - then eveything in that
folder then also needs enabled sharing. So for eg I can set up my C drive as
shared but when I open C on my 2nd PC every folder in it is still
unavailable, unless I go through each one in turn

Is there not a way that I can check a box to allow the whole of my main PC
to be accessed by the other one?

A second qu. My main PC has NTL external USB Modem. How do I get access to
NTL using the 'slave machine' and I can I do this whilst the main unit is
also on line?

Many thanks

to share the internet you have to use ICS, you can set this up with
the properties of the internet connection.

I think XP has some sort of security that doesn't allow the full
sharing of the drive with the OS on to stop ppl messing it up over the
network

This guy didn't ask about ICS at all!
The reason you cannot access sub-folders is probably your login ID.
You must be logged onto the client computer with a name known to the
"server" or the PC sharing the files.
Try logging onto both as "Administrator", I think you'll find you can
access everything then.
Then set up a user with your name on each, because it's not a good idea
to use "Administrator" all the time.

Except for he bit where he said
"A second qu. My main PC has NTL external USB Modem. How do I get access
to NTL using the 'slave machine' and I can I do this whilst the main
