shared printer problem

server 2003 environment. win 98 machine (AD Client
already installed) directly connected to hp 932c printer.
printer is setup to be shared to domain users. after an
undetermined amount of time the printer is unavailable to
those accessing the printer (they may get a
username/passwd prompt or simply denied use of it). when
i go to the 98 machine directly connected to the printer
and open the share properties it does not allow me
access...saying something like 'these properties are not
available now, check back later'.

Any suggestions would be great!
