Shared printer will not work with one PC on network

I have a network between two PCs running XP and can access files from either
PC but printing is only available fro one PC
How do I fix this?

I should have said that the printer is plugged into one PC via a USB
connector and I had hoped to use the network to access the printer for the
other PC

In the computer connecting to the printer, do this command: "net share", then post back with the result.

Hi Malcolm,

The word to fix your problem is "share".
In the PC you have your printer you have share the printer with the
net.
You cand do this , go to the "properties of printer" and share.
And the other PC in the net you need to install you printer of the net.
So i thing with this steps you can fix.
The last thing i have to say is you have the PC with printer turn on if
you can printer with another PC in the net.

Thank you but I have already got the printer to share under the properties
of the printer
