Shared printer issues with XP ad-hoc wireless

Set up Epson RX640 driver on client, no prob. Established path to host
printer where the printer is working fine and all looks well. Tried a first
print and all went fine until message "this document failed to print". In the
spool q, i see it is listed as "error- printing". Deleted and tried a few
more time without success. Troubleshooter of no value, as everything seems
fine with the setup.
Any ideas?
