I have the following working;

a network share called appl
everyone has read rights
ABE enabled

on this folder I have the following NTFS permissions;
everyone read only for the current folder

In this folder there are several subfolders and the subfolders also have
subfolder for example;

Office 2003\
Office 2003\install\program\
Office 2003\install\test\
Office 2003\testfolder\

The permission I want is to let the user have only permission to read the
Office 2003\Install\program folder and no permissions for the other
subfolders. So I gave the user (or group) the read permission on the install
folder. The user cannot see the Office 2003 folder (and also not the install
folder)
When I give the user read permission to Office 2003 he can see all
subfolders. But then I have to give deny rights to all other directories
which I don't want him to see.

Is there a more simple way to implemt my security permissions?

kind regards

robbert

On this folder turn on alloe inheritable permissions to propagate from
parent and then set permission on thta folder.That would help.If any help
needed contact me on e-mail.

This is already turned on. But that doesn't solve my problem, the folder then
isn't visable for the user because he doesn't have rights to the office 2003
folder.

FYI
This is frowned upon on a public forum because nobody
will see the resolution.
