1st / Thank you for all your responses,

The current share name is "LexmarkX"

Some additional info:

As I shut down the 9x box last night, I recieved a
prompt "there is currently 1 user logged on / do you want
to continue?"
I don't recall manually logging onto the 9x box from
either the XP box or the W2K box. Does the user I created
on the W2K box, for password access/sharing,
automatically log onto the 9x box? Could this be a
conflict while trying to load the shared printer on the
XP box? or cause 9x not to "see" it during setup
Remember, I can see and share all files in both
directions from all 3 machines and I can also see, and
start the wizard from, the shared printer icon in my
workgroup window on the 9x box. It just fails to find the
printer from inside the Lexmark setup that starts from
the wizard.

I am beginning to wonder if it a protocal or service
issue?

Anyway, If you'll keep trying to help / I will
continue to answer with info or results.

Again, thanks for your dilligence,

j. galloway

Hello All,

Thanks for all the suggestions,

I believe I've gotten my issues resolved in the
Windows/XP/Printing newsgroup.

Thanks for your patience while I posted all over the
place, and in screwed up orders.
