I have 2 computer with windows 98 . I bought a router and
installed it though modem. And now 2 computer sharing the
internet connection. I would like to share files/folder
and printer also. How do I do that? I know I'm gonna need
hub or switch. do I need second network adapter ?

Any help I will appreciate it.

If both computers are connected to the router for their Internet connection,
you already have everything you need for your network ... except, perhaps,
the information in the setup guides you'll find at these sites:

Hi carey,

Some of the link description I don't have it in my computer
such as "extract file" on "MSconfig/general tab" the other
one is under Network properties , it says " make sure
uncheck "Log on to Windows NT domain" I also don't have
that .

In addition , Isn't it IPX/SPX for Novell Netware, why we
need it, because I don't have novel netware install.

I have windows 98 se and windows 98 computer.

thank you

Juli

"Isn't it IPX/SPX for Novell Netware, why we need it, because I don't have
novel netware install."

No, IPX is not ONLY for Novell. My page is designed to help you fix your
network. I have you install IPX/SPX as a diagnostic tool and to see if it
makes a difference. If it does, then you know you need it and it's up to you
to figure out why or just let things be.

To quote a message posted just below yours: "I had exactly the same
problem - then I tried changing the protocol on thewin98 system to IPX/SPX
and activated NETBIOS, obviously IPX/SPX needs to
be active on the other systems. Four days of tearing my hair out after I had
been told only to use TCP/IC solved with one tick box.
