how to share a folder over a network?

You establish shares on a wireless network the same way that you would on a
wired network.

The "users" tab on Task Manager shows users on other machines that have a
Microsoft Networking connection to your machine, usually for the purpose of
accessing a shared folder or printer on your machine. This tab will not
show other users on the network.

anywayz, now i want to start taking advantage of it. i want to share one
folder over the network. how can i do this? do i have to use the windows xp

also, when i am on the pc or laptop, when i go to task manager, the other
user is not displayed in the 'users' tab. i thought u could send them
private messages using this?

As for sending a message, assuming that the other machine's name is
Computer2, you can click on Start, Run, type in cmd <enter> and then
type in:

netsend Computer2 How are you today?
