Hi all,
I installed a Win2k3 server as a DC on a small netowrk for four XP
clients. All is well except for the fact that once a day, usually in the
middle to the late day, the access to a Quickbooks share on a client goes
down, freezing the application on other machines. I would blame QB except
that at the same time, a message dialog box appears on the QB client
(presumably by Outlook), saying that the POP3 server (on the DC) can not be
contacted. It seems that the share or network access has been disrupted or
timed-out, even in the midst of client activity. A reboot always cures the
problem. Anyone know what this is, or am I going to have to be content with a
workaround like automated reboot?

Anythign relevant in App or Sys Event logs?
Or maybe WiFi link goes down?
Can you ping the server during outahe either by name or IP?
Can XP clients ping each other by IP (allow ping in firewall)?
