share access problem

Hi,

A user logs into his win2k computer which is a non domain member and has a
user account that matches his domain account. He is able to access shares
on the domain controller but not on a member server in the same domain even
though his domain account is given access to the member server share. The
domain controller is in native mode running WINS. Why isn't he able to
access the member server shares?

A member server will not pass the credentials to a DC
of the domain for authentication unless the domain being
passed by the client unless the domain is trusted or the
computer is trusted by the domain ie domain member.
It will check it's local SAM database only. You can
create a duplicate account locally on the member or
specify a domain account using the "connect as" feature
e.g., (E-Mail Removed) or user/domainname.
