SETTING WIRELESS UP!

Hi All,
I am new to wireless and have been trying to set up my laptop to use the
internet through my desktop computer wirelessly. I spent 6 hours trying to
get this to wor, and it shows that it is connected and there is a strong
signal, but when I open internet explorer it doesnt find any pages? Can
ANYONE please help. In Lamens terms if possible as Im getting very confused
as it is!
Does the IP Address on my laptop have to match that on the desktop? What is
a default gateway? etc etc.....THANKS EVERYONE

Do you have a wireless router? No, you don't want to have your laptop's
IP address match any other computer on the network. The default gateway
would be the router. Post back with more details such as what wireless
equipment you've got, how you connect to the Internet (broadband or
dialup), and the operating systems on both machine (with service pack
level if XP). In the meantime, here are some links to help you:
