Hiya,
I have two WAP54G Access Points that I am trying to configure as a
Wireless bridge. I managed to configure two WAP11B's as a Wireless
bridge about a year ago, but one of the units went on the blink so we
decided to invest in two WAP54G units.
I have entered the LAN Mac address on the wireless tab, selecting
Wireless bridge mode.
The SSID on the two units is identical and set to enable.
The WEP passphrase is identical, and set to the same bit encoding (128
bit) I have verified that the string that is created from this
passphrase is identical on the two WAP54G's.
The WAP54G units have different access point names and IP address. I
have checked the subnet mask and the gateway mask against the settings
of the old WAP11B unit that still works ok (This wasn't on the network
during testing) and they match.
I can ping both machines when they are connected to the hub on my
corner of the LAN, but when I unplug the WAP54G from the hub and try
and ping across the Wireless network I get no response.
I am wondering (hoping) if the problem is that there is no hub
attached to the WAP54G during this test (I don't have the hardware to
hand to test that)
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction,
Many thanks,
--
