Sometimes, because the company will not release the information a
developer would need, thus forcing outside developers to reverse-
engineer it. Other times, because no one capable of doing it is
interested in doing it. (Pay someone to do it and perhaps you will

Why didn't YOU write the driver? Do you feel entitled to have someone
else do it for you? Personally I feel grateful that so much in terms of
software and drivers are available. Once I came across a cheap SCSI
adapter which I couldn't get working, but a better one (which works
perfectly) didn't cost much more.
