Setting Up Samba Acounts with webmin?

It appears to use Samba that one needs to allow Linix (RH9) users to have Samba
accounts and passwords. I fired up SWAT with webmin and found that there is indeed a
section that performs these functions. I got to a screen (lower 1/2) that showed:
Samba Users
1 Edit Samba Users Passwds ...
2 Convert Unix Users to Samba
3 Config Unix and Samba Users synch

I quickly found out that I had to use SWAT to authenticate a few things, so did that.
Then I converted guest to Samba with (2), and made some other reasonable choices.
BTW, three accounts were shown: nfsnobody, wayne (me), and guest.

I then went over to my XP Pro box and signed in as guest. Same passwd as on Linux. I
fired up Network Places Near Me, and it showed nothing.

What next?

First of all you should share a folder (/home for example is included with
most samba configurations). Look up at smb.conf in /etc for details. You
can do this using SWAT too.

From linux box use
smbclient -L localhost
to see samba shares

From Windows hosts you should use from a DOS shell, the command
net view \\linuxserver
and you should get the list of shares.

It is better that the domain or workgroup of Windows hosts be the same of
the linux samba one (you can configure it in /etc/smb.conf or using SWAT).
If it is not you should specify the domain of samba server with the command
line of net view command.

Then if you see the share, try to log to them, using smbclient from linux
hosts or net use from Windows hosts (or in a more direct way with
\\linuxserver\sharename from Windows Explorer).

Best regards
Damiano

Didn't see it in SWAT--maybe. I thought maybe there was some place that allowed me to
share a linux file sys as a specific user, say, guest. I did find a place that seemed
to allow me to share files for all samba users. Is there a specific place in SWAT
That allows guest to designate it allows a share with Win user's who are also guest?
