Setting Up Remote Desktop with MN 500

Can someone help me out please? I want to be able to use
remote Desktop in XP to connect to my computer at home
but don't how to set up my router to allow that
connection. Please can someone help?

You'll need to forward the port located in your registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Termina
l Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

I usually change the default to a number only I know so
that people can't just use remote desktop to connect to my
IP.

If you change the number, simply connect using:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxort

Use port forwarding-
Forward port 3389 to host machine IP.
See port forwarding help.
