I have 2 windows 2003 + SP1 servers that i wish to load balance. I can enable
a cluster and host on one server. When i try and connect using the NLB
manager from the other server to the new cluster host i get the errror:
"could not locate NLB on the specified computer"

Each server can ping each other. Netbios is enabled on each server. each
server has 2 nics and i have tried using both unicast and multicast settings.
Using netstat -an i can see netbios ports open etc.......

Each server i can create the cluster locally but neither server can see each
others NLB the following way:

1 - NLB Manager cant connect to the remote server
2 - I cant add a remote host to the cluster i created locally.

The servers are Virtual Machines. Each server has 2 NICs:

Server1
Nic1: 172.21.21.33 SM:255.255.255.0 VLAN1
Nic2: 172.21.20.33 SM: 255.255.255.0 VLAN2

Server2
Nic1: 172.21.21.34 SM:255.255.255.0 VLAN1
Nic2: 172.21.20.34 SM:255.255.255.0 VLAN2

Am i missing something here? does VMWARE Support Windows NLB?
Any special configuration in VMWARE?

I have the same issue here as I can setup the NLB for both server manually
by going into the Network conneciton for each server for the DMZ connection.
Once I have this done my NLB works perfectly yet when I try to use the NLB
GUI to do the setup it will allow me to setup the first host but as soon as
I attempt to setup the second host the NLB GUI reply that connection to the
lost. I have the second NIC installed but am not sure where to setup the NLB
so that is know to use it for the configuration communication and leave the
the first NIC available for the NLB processing of Web traffic.
