I currently have a desktop computer connected to a DSL router and a wireless
linksys router for my laptop.
I am running Windows xp on both computers.
I ran the network wizard on the desktop and also the wireless wizard on the
laptop. Neither computer shows up on the network. What am I doing wrong
here. I know it's possible to do this, so could someone please simplify this
setup for me so I can get these two computers talking to each other?
Thanks.

Running the Network Setup Wizard usually does it. The most common cause
of the inability for each computer to see each other is a misconfigured
firewall. If you are running a third-party firewall, make sure the
Windows Firewall has been disabled (the Wizard will enable it) and that
the third-party firewall has been configured to allow your lan as
trusted.

Make sure you create shares on each machine. Here are some links to help

Maybe I didn't explain myself clearly about the computer set up. My desktop
is connect to the internet by a DSL modem, which runs to a linksys wireless
router that goes to the desktop.
I shut down all my firewalls to see if that was causing my computer from
seeing the other but that's not the case.
When I search for the computer I get a error message that says "MSHome is
not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access
permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
available."
Now what????????????????
