I have a an XP and a w98SE conected via a crossover
eyhernet cable. I ran through the wizard on the XP
machine OK, seemed pretty fool proof.
Not to sure what I have to do on the W98SE. I tried
some obvious stuff. Enable file sharing etc but I can't
get things to work.
I had an error can't start connection wizard (or something
like that). Anyway it won't work, or do anything 'networky'.
I am also unsure on names and groups and everything basically.
Is there a simple fool proof guide to get me started?

In 'network connection's' on the XP I can see the connection,
with some bytes sent 777 and some recieved 13.

Help!!!

At some point on the W98SE machine I am setting up windows client
or something like that and it requires a domain, womething like a
window NT domain or something. I have no clue what to put in here
so I put nothing, which it doesn't like very much! (Unsurprisingly)
What should I put here? It says to contact my systems administrator,
but I think that is me and he is useles :O)

Your network is a workgroup, not a domain. On W98SE, go to Control
Panel | Network, click Client for Microsoft Networks, click
Properties, and blank out the two Windows NT Domain boxes.
