Linksys wireless adapter, win98se

My linksys link information is showing a strong signal and link quality but
I can't connect to the 'net.
Here are the setting;

**Wireless Network Status**
status, connected
ssid, Dan
network mode, ad-hoc
transfer rate, 11mbps
channel, 1
wep, off (trying to get it to work)
mac, 02-e0-4c-d3-f1-a0

**TCP/IP Setting**
ip address, 192.168.0.101
submask, 255.255.255.0
default gateway. 192.168.0.1
dns, 192.168.0.1
dhsp, enabled

any help would be helpful,
It's an older laptop running 98se which I haven't used in a while so not
sure what settings I need to make,

thanks,

Did you make sure any firewalls, HOSTS file, A-V, or other is not blocking
or limiting access?
Recheck to ensure nothing previously installed is interfering.
Also make sure your browsers are not set for proxy usage, or an old dialup
connection [always dial], or prior network..

Have you tried using the ping test routines to see if you can ping your
router, adapter, and the Internet?
You MUST use a known ping return address when pinging the Internet like
Google's.

When you disabled WEP, did you do so across the devices?

BTW: don't post MAC and SSID...
