Hi,
I have set up correct NFS Server on a Windows 2003 R2 64Bit, i can map it
from himself using "net use X: TRBX64:/Trumpf" where TRBX64 is my windows
server name and Trumpf is my NFS Share name.

My trouble is that beside mapping it, i cannot do anything, neither
read/list directory nor write in it.

I have setup "ALL MACHINE READ/WRITE ACCESS" but nothing. If i add a
directory inside my share (usine windows drive) i cannot even see using the
share.

When i click on Share Permission and "Add User" I can't see any username in
the box to add? I have create some User mapping so i suppose that my password
file and group file is good but just to be sure, is there someone who can
specify me the syntax of the Password File and Group File.

I need it for one user only, an old PLC of a manufacturing machine that need
to access this dir in the NFS Way. So if i could only open it to Read/Write
to everyone it will be ok... but for some reason i can't do that...

please help.

thanks.

does your user have both the necc. file share AND NTFS permissions? (the stricter of both is the effective permission)

I know that, my share is wide open in NTFS permission (Everyone).

My problem is specially for NFS Share (Unix compatibility), i know how to
use windows ntfs/share permission.

My trouble is that in the NFS Share permission, i can't add any user, even
if i load a passwd file and map some user to my windows user....

i don't have any NIS, i don't want to sync it with my domain.... all i want
is that an old unix system could mount it to read program file in that share.

thanks!

did you find a solution to this? I have the same requirement (old linux box
needs to connect to windows file cluster in a traditional NFS way). Do you
have any step-by-steps on how you set this up? if so i could really use the
help

(E-Mail Removed)

Thanks,
Dan
