Hey everyone,

We are running a Windows 2003 domain. I just setup two (2) new servers
running Windows 2003 ent. They will be our new file servers when I am done.
I would like to set them up in a cluster.

Does anyone know of a step-by-step doc. for setting up a file server
cluster?

I have HBA cards in the servers and we have an EMC SAN in place. I just
want a step-by-step doc on how to configure the Windows cluster.

TIA,

Clayton

For the cluster
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

For the file share within the cluster
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

Once this is done, what is the best way to move my data from my old (stand
alone) file server to the new cluster keeping all of the ACLs? File Server
Migration Tool? Robocoy?

I have used NTbackup in the past, you need to preserve ACL's and not
everything can do that. Backup to a file, then restore.

I guess I should have said I need to keep all ACLs and file shares. What
can do that?
Can't Robocopy using RobocopyGUI do that?

Dear all

I have used a tool called Security Explorer (www.ScriptLogic.com) that can
do this ACLs backup and Restore.

I hope this will help you.

Thanks
