Hi,

this is the first time a customer asks me for somethign like this, so I
would like to have some opinions about the topic..

The thing is we are implementing an ERP project based on Windows Server 2003
OS.. The application uses a database server and a application server. So the
customer is asking me what happens if one of the servers burns in fire...

I always put RAID, NAS for Backups, redundant power suppies, UPS, and all
common security stuff, but none of this is enough if there is a fire in the
office...

So is there something like a RAID techonology for servers?? maybe like
another set of servers in a different building conected through a network,
and in case one server set fails, the other one automatically starts working
and all the data is there as well...

Does enterprise versions of Windows Server have something to manage stuff
like this or I need some third party software or some kind of hardware
technology??

Thanks..

Excellent!!

BY what i read, I see the technology I need is a HA Cluster... Altough,
Microsoft has this product Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003,
which is for HPC clusters working with x64 version of windows server..

What software is normally used for HA??.. I would like some microsoft
product, as our customer is partner member if possible...

thanks again..
