Before on window xp:

We have setup a local intranet where we use to be able to access with
www.example.com.sb for our testing environment. We still do have staff using
window xp and they can access it fine.

Now on window vista:

When going to www.example.com.sb, it tries to go out to the web and does not
find that domain. But if I use www.example.com.sb.name.local (FQDN) then it
works.

Question:

Is there anyway I can get this to work as it did before? If so, please
advice me
on how to do so. Thanks.

In the TCP/IP properties for your NIC, add "name.local" as a DNS suffix.

This is a name resolution issue, so the question is why. Start doing some
testing with "nslookup" to see why you aren't getting what you expect.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have all that setup properly. I put in my xp
harddrive and hit the local site and it works. It is something about vista
naming resolution. Back to testing.
