We currently have a Peer-to-Peer LAN with Win98 machines. Would there be
any benefit to changing to a Client/Server configuration with Windows Server
2003 ? My boss is interested in increasing the performance of the LAN.
Internal security is not an issue.

Thanks in advance
Bobbie

In that case probably not. What is the speed of the LAN? You can maybe
speed things up a bit by upgrading some of that kit. eg. 100Mb instead
of 10Mb and/or switch instead of hub.

I agree, go to 100mb if you can and (my opinion) keep the file sharing using
NetBeui (its faster than TCP/IP)

Thanks for the replies. We definitely don't have the expertise in-house to
setup a Client/Server network. Good to know we can improve performance with
hardware upgrades while we work on getting more versed in the Client/Server
option.
