Basically the just of my problemis: My senior has set up a FPS in our
Chicago office, I am in SF. He then got the bright idea to use VMWare
to run that same server as a DC, and as a VM Server for local
production folks.

1. The DC and VM Server both show up while browsing the Entire Network

2. The FPS itself does not show up. It is fully accesible any other
way you just need to know the name. For example going to run, then
\\sch-fps01,
works fine.

I would like to either know why that is, or how can I get it to
show up.

I'm told people need to be able to browse to the FPS without knowing
the
exact name of the server.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

By the way this server is also a secondary DNS server, if that is of
any consequence.

I assume you're using WINS. Is the FPS (assuming you mean a file and print
server) registered in WINS? The browser service, which is what Network
Neighborhood uses, such as looking for it thru "Entier Network", relies on
NetBIOS broadcasts and NetBIOS registrations, and will work hand in hand
with WINS. DNS has nothing to do with the Browser service.
