windows 2003 DC, 21 client computers. all 21 can see the server and access
the server and its shares, can get online etc. no problems. Of the 21
clients this particular problem child shows up in Active Directory, you can
ping it, but when you try and browse for it on the network its not there, you
can't map a drive to it either. It is windows 2000 running service pack 3.
Any ideas on why the server can't access the computer other than by ping?

Sharing is enabled on the client, shared a folder off c:\ just to make sure.
All other machines on the network can see and access eachother.

Try:

1. On the client make sure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled.

2. On the client restart the Server service.

3. On the client check Event Viewer for errors.

4. On another machine, what happens if you run
\\<IPaddressofproblemmachine> ?

What exact error message are you seeing when you attempt
to access the machine other than ping?
