Hey
Just helping out a friend of mine. They've got 5 desktop computers in their
office, which is plugged into a switch and plugged into server. Also, for
internet access they have got a adsl 2/2+ modem which plugs into the server.
They recently got a laptop which has wireless connectivity, so is it simply a
matter of replacing the adsl 2/2+ router with a wireless version?. How would
that work with the server and all?. Would it just mean they would have
wireless internet access but no access to the server? What would be the most
effective solution to work this out. Server access isnt entirely
necessary,however would be quite convenient

Help would be appreciated

Not sure what an adsl 2/2+ is - you describe it as a modem and a router; and
it may well be a combo device. In any event it sounds like the server is
routing or providing NAT between this device and the LAN. The easiest way
to accomplish your goal without changing the existing configuration is:

1. Do not replace the adsl 2/2+

2. Configure a wireless router with a compatible LAN IP address and disable
its DHCP function.

3. Connect a LAN port on the wireless router to a port on the LAN switch.
Do not connect the WAN/Internet port on the wireless router to anything.
