Hello,
first, sorry for my english writing, but I miss some practice :/

So, I will try to explain my trouble as best as I can...

I have many multihomed servers running 2000 and 2003 server. All theses
servers are connected to a 'public' lan (with workstations) and to a backup
lan (no routing).
I use my DNS server as a dynamic DNS (2000 upgraded to 2003sp1), it accept
only the updates from the 'public' lan.

Since i've installed some servers in 2003R2, theses servers register both IP
in the system DNS, event if the checkbox is disabled........

I tried to add specific DNS suffix for the backup lan, it works for some
servers, but not for all.... Event with checking boxes 'register this
connexion...' and 'use this connexion DNS suffix.....' without any DNS to
answer to this suffix.

As you can imagine, it cause some errors when the DNS send to client an
unreachable IP address.

Anyone have the same issue?
Anyone can help?

Thanks,

Laurent Dumont

Are you using DHCP? DHCP can register the names and IP addresses in DNS
as well as the client itself.

Yes, I do, but the servers that register unwanted IP uses fixed IP on both
connexions.
